June 2005: 11th National Gathering, Pine Manor College, Boston, MA
June 2004: 10th National Gathering held at Berea College, Berea, Kentucky
June 2003: 9th National Gathering held at University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota
June 2002: 8th National Gathering held at Salish-Kootenai College, Pablo, Montana
June 2001: 7th National Gathering held at Butler University and IUPUI, Indianapolis, IN
June 2000: 6th National Gathering held at Georgetown University, Washington, DC
June 1999: 5th National Gathering held at University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA
January 1999: Steering Committee met at Eagle Rock High School in Estes Park, Colorado. From this point on the Steering Committee began meeting every winter and every summer.
June 1998: 4th National Gathering was held at Portland State University.
June 1997: 3rd National Gathering held at Denver University in Denver, CO.
June 1996: 2nd National Gathering is held at Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis.
June 1996: Portland State University invites the Invisible College to have its administrative home at Portland State
May 1996: Steering Committee meets in Oakland to write by-laws.
February 1996: Full group of 60 members meets in Phoenix. The Invisible College becomes an organization independent of Campus Compact and COOL.
September 1995: Second group of 30 Invisible College members meets at Highlander.
July 1995:  Planning committee meets in Minneapolis to develop a 3-5 year strategic plan.
May 1995: 1st National Gathering (annual meeting) is held at Providence College, in Providence, RI.
April 1995:     A group of 30 Invisible College members meets at Highlander.
February 1995: Steering Committee meets in Miami to select an additional 40 members.
May 1994: Service Learning in the Disciplines Monograph series is launched by Ed Zlotkowski.
May 1994: First group of 20 Invisible College members meets at Highlander.
February 1994: Funding secured from anonymous funder
April 1992:     Idea of Invisible College is discussed at Highlander
